Ingredients

  • 1 package of 12 dinner rolls
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion minced fine
  • 12 slices Kraft American cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 12 –15 hamburger dill pickles slices
  • 1/3 cup Thousand Island dressing
  • 2 eggs whisked
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp butter melted
  • 2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 2 tsp garlic powder or to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper or to taste
  • 2 tbsp minced onion or to taste

Method

  1. Prepare the Beef Mixture
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. In a skillet, cook ground beef with minced onion until fully browned. Drain excess grease.
  4. Season with salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and minced onion to taste. Let cool slightly.
  5. Prepare the Rolls
  6. Slice the dinner rolls horizontally, keeping the top and bottom halves intact. Place the bottom halves in a greased 9x13 baking dish.
  7. Layer the Sliders
  8. Spread cooked ground beef evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls.
  9. Top with slices of American cheese.
  10. Place the top halves of the rolls back on.
  11. Brush and Bake
  12. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  13. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes, then uncover and bake for 5 more minutes until the tops are golden brown.
  14. Add Classic Big Mac Toppings
  15. Remove from oven and carefully lift the top half of the rolls.
  16. Spread Thousand Island dressing evenly, then add shredded lettuce and pickle slices.
  17. Replace the top rolls and press gently.
  18. Serve and Enjoy
  19. Cut into individual sliders and serve warm.

Notes

  • Active Time: 20 minutes
  • Passive Time: 20 minutes baking
  • Make sure the beef is drained well—excess grease can make the rolls soggy.
  • For an extra Big Mac vibe, double up the beef and cheese layers (yes, two patties!) before baking.
  • Shredded iceberg lettuce works best for that authentic fast-food texture.
