Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup Halloween sprinkles

Method

  1. Preheat the oven: Set oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  3. Add wet ingredients: Mix in egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Mix dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, sea salt, and baking soda.
  5. Combine: Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in mix-ins: Gently stir in chocolate chips and Halloween sprinkles.
  7. Scoop dough: Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop dough balls onto prepared sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake: Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are set and centers look slightly underdone.
  9. Cool and enjoy: Let cookies rest 5 minutes on the sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Underbaking slightly will keep cookies soft and chewy.
  • For bakery-style looks, press extra chocolate chips and sprinkles on top before baking.
  • Dough does not need chilling, but chilling for 15 minutes helps control spreading.
