Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken rotisserie recommended
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup cream cheese or sour cream
  • 4 large flour tortillas burrito-size
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons chopped green onions cilantro, or jalapeños
  • 2 tablespoons butter or oil for grilling

Method

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, cream cheese (or sour cream), and seasonings. Mix until everything is evenly coated and creamy.
  2. Assemble the Burritos: Lay out a tortilla and spoon about ½ cup of filling into the center. Add any extras like green onions or jalapeños. Fold in the sides, then roll tightly from the bottom up to form a burrito. Repeat for all tortillas.
  3. Heat the Skillet: Warm a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add butter or oil.
  4. Crisp the Burritos: Place burritos seam-side down and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crisp. Flip carefully to toast evenly on all sides.
  5. Serve Hot: Slice in half, garnish with chopped cilantro if desired, and serve immediately with sour cream, salsa, or guacamole.

Notes

  • No oven needed — stovetop crisping gives the best texture.
  • For extra indulgence, sprinkle cheese directly onto the pan before placing the burrito — it melts and forms a crispy cheese crust on the outside!
